Our friends at Urth say this is one of their most beloved crochet patterns, and the great news is…it’s now available in more sizes, including a version for babies and toddlers! Crocheted in Urth Yarn’s Uneek self-striping fingering, the end result is an exclamation-worthy kaleidoscope of color.
The Squared Up Jacket is built of hexagons and is folded into shape, similar to origami but crochet! The open front cardigan is created out of two mirrored, hexagonal shapes that begin beneath the underarms and wrap around the body, joined together with a seam down the back. The sleeves extend from one of the hexagonal sides and the front and hem are crocheted to desired length. See schematic. The entire jacket is worked in the same classic stitch.
