Solid Stripes Shrug

Ariane Gallizzi

  • Ariane Gallizzi’s Solid Stripes Shrug is knit in one piece, sideways. It is a quick and simple knit/purl project that will make an elegant piece. The stripes are created by holding the yarn 3-ply using the Navajo Knitting technique. This is such a fun and smart technique; it breaks up the otherwise monotonous stockinette stitch.

For details on the Navajo Knitting technique check out this YouTube video.

This pattern was designed with Teresa Ruch’s hand-painted Tencel 5/2. This 100% natural fiber comes in beautifully vibrant colors, feels like silk, and drapes luxuriously. It is softer and more absorbent than cotton, wrinkles less, and is very comfortable to wear.
