Ariane Gallizzi’s Solid Stripes Shrug is knit in one piece, sideways. It is a quick and simple knit/purl project that will make an elegant piece. The stripes are created by holding the yarn 3-ply using the Navajo Knitting technique. This is such a fun and smart technique; it breaks up the otherwise monotonous stockinette stitch.

This pattern was designed with Teresa Ruch’s hand-painted Tencel 5/2. This 100% natural fiber comes in beautifully vibrant colors, feels like silk, and drapes luxuriously. It is softer and more absorbent than cotton, wrinkles less, and is very comfortable to wear. It would also be lovely worked in Bellatrista's Milk Fingering or Ella Rae's Rustic Silk.
