General Information

Izzy Knits is a virtual (online-only) local yarn shop based in Irvine, California.

Our store hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (PT), Monday through Friday. We are also often available on Saturday, though it's not guaranteed.

We do not work on Sunday.

Our telephone number is (800) 231-0154. If we don't answer the phone, please LEAVE A MESSAGE. We will get back to you, we promise!

Our favorite method of contact is via email at info@izzyknits.com. We check our email often and respond quickly. It's the best way to reach us!

Yes! Izzy Knits has two online shops. One (this one) is powered by Shopify and is our main shop. The other is an Etsy shop.

Because the two sites are linked, 90% of our products are available on both. Approximately 10% of our products do not appear in the Etsy shop. That is why we consider this our primary location.

Patterns

Digital patterns purchased on their own will be available immediately upon checkout. You will see a download link appear on your screen. This may take a minute or two, so please be patient while the software does its thing. You will also receive an email with a link to the pattern download.

Digital patterns purchased in conjunction with one or more physical products may or may not be available immediately (the software has a mind of its own!). In the event it is not immediately available, please watch for an email with a link to the pattern download, which will be sent to you once we fulfill the physical order.

No worries. If you're having trouble with a digital download, just let us know via email, and we will send you the PDF that way.

Yes! We provide printed patterns with all of our kits. If you purchase a kit and would like a digital PDF of the included pattern, just send us and email and we will gladly send it to you.

Customer Service

One of the biggest challenges to shopping for yarn online is not knowing how it feels. If you want a personal description of how it feels to us, just give us a call. We're happy to describe it to you. Call us any time between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm (PT) at (800) 231-0154.

One answer is ... KITS! We're bringing more and more kits into the shop every month that either come with a project pattern (see Complete Kits) or where the pattern is sold separately (see Yarn Kits) and we provide you with the link.

We also try to list a couple of patterns (either available at Izzy Knits or elsewhere) in every yarn description, so you can click through to see a few samples before you buy.

Yes! We love color and are happy to help you choose the perfect colors for your project. Call us any time between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm (PT) at (800) 231-0154 with your color questions. I can send you extra photos or we can even FaceTime. Whatever it takes!

Orders & Shipping

Orders received prior to 5:00 pm (PT) are often processed within hours of receipt. That means that, if you wish to edit an order for any reason, you should contact us right away, either by email or telephone at (800)231-0154. A "processed" order is one that has been fulfilled locally or has been forwarded to one of our drop ship partners for fulfillment.

For items stocked locally, our goal is to ship "same day" all orders placed prior to 4:00 pm (PT) Monday-Friday or before 1:00pm (PT) Saturday. Orders received after 1:00 pm (PT) Saturday or on Sunday will ship Monday.

Our drop ship partners' shipping schedules vary. Please refer to the Drop Shipping section of these FAQs for vendor-specific details.

Yes. We offer curbside pickup, by appointment. Just add a note to your order at checkout, or email us IMMEDIATELY after placing your order so we don't process/ship it same day.

Curbside pickup applies only to products stocked locally. Drop-shipped items are not eligible for pick up.

Currently, we are shipping internationally to Canada only.

As of January 2, 2021, all international shipments will be sent via USPS (US Postal Service), and could incurr additional customs/import duties and fees imposed by the Canadian government. Any such fees are the sole responsibility of the customer.

This change of provider was made our customers' request.

Drop Shipping

We began drop shipping products during the Covid-19 crisis when our vendors blessed us (see our blog post) with this option!

Drop shipping allows small businesses like ours to offer our customers more products than we otherwise could, because we don't have to pre-purchase all of the inventory. Instead, our vendors carry the inventory, and we pay for it only after an order has been placed, helping us better manage our cash flow in this difficult economic climate.

No. Shipping fees are determined at checkout. We charge for shipping as if all items are shipped from our location in California, based on weight, destination, and speed of delivery as determined by the customer (e.g. standard vs. expedited).

Most products are housed locally at Izzy Knits and do not drop ship.

Any product that is drop shipped by one of our vendors will be identified as such by the following sentence at the end of the product description: This is a drop-shipped item.

Bellatrista drop ships from Washington state.

With a number of yarns in stock and ready to ship, Bellatrista generally gets our orders in the mail within 24-48 hours of receiving our request. Every once in a while, during the winter months, snow may cause a brief delay due to Bellatrista's rural location.

Bellatrista also dyes many of its yarns to order. If/when this is the case, we will inform you of the estimated wait time (usually 2 weeks or less) and work with you to adjust your order if/as necessary.

Knitting Fever (KFI) drop ships from upstate New York.

With a number of yarns in stock and ready to ship, KFI generally gets our orders in the mail within 24 hours of receiving our request.

If we discover that KFI does not have the item you ordered in stock, we will immediately contact you with options, which may include waiting, adjusting your color choice, or refunding your order in full.

If you are looking for something specific from Trendsetter Yarn Group, please send us an inquiry via email.

Trendsetter Yarn Group drop ships from Southern California.

Items such as kits and full bags of yarn are generally no problem. Individual skeins are often available as well.

Please be sure to include the colorwayand dye lot for any yarn you need to complete a project so we can try to match it.

Urth Yarns drop ships from Turkey, where all of its yarns are spun and hand-dyed.

For orders of 4 skeins or less, Urth will send the yarns, first to their warehouse in FL, and then to you via USPS. You do NOT pay any extra, but it may take 2 weeks for your yarn to arrive at your location.

For orders of 5 or more skeins, Urth will ship directly to your location via DHL international delivery service. We expect this turnaround time to be much quicker.

Because all Urth yarns are made in Turkey, we expect they will have most, if not all, products in stock at all times. If we discover that Urth does not have the item you ordered in stock, we will immediately contact you with options, which may include waiting, adjusting your color choice, or refunding your order in full.

Canadian orders for Urth yarns will first be shipped to Izzy Knits in CA, and then to their destination in Canada. This may result in longer than usual shipping times, but hopefully no longer than 3-4 weeks.

Shipping rates are based on the travel from CA to Canada and are calculated based on weight and destination.
